Program Description:

Our goal is to educate future gardeners while growing healthy organic food for our neighbors that use the Marshfield food Pantry while having fun! 8 children per session.  We have 4 dedicated garden beds that measure 8’X4’. We will have one herb garden bed that will share the bed with cutting flowers. 3 beds will produce tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, zucchini, kale, etc.

We’ll learn about:
Composting
Beneficial pollinators, worms and bats.
Seed starting
Transplanting seedlings
Plant identification
And much more…

We will have craft time such as picking flowers to dry for note cards.  They will go home with a note card and make an extra one that we will gladly give to a Veterans group.

The Marshfield food pantry will host the children from each session.  They will give them a tour of the pantry and explain what a difference they will make for our community.

At the end of the growing season, all participating children are invited to a harvest party.  We will thank everyone and share the total amount of food we’ve grown and donated.

Every registered child will receive their own trowel and garden gloves.
Please make sure they bring sunblock, water and a hat.

We will get our hands, knees and elbows dirty.  We will be using the hose and having tons of fun!

Each session is 4 weeks. We will be using a portion of your fee to purchase seedlings that we will grow.  We will also be direct seeding.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
