The Basketball Shooting Academy Directed by Head Basketball Coach Bob Fisher of Marshfield High School, is the Blueprint of becoming a better and more consistent shooter. Whether you are a beginner and just learning become a better shooter and wanting to become a better shooter or even an experienced player looking to refine your shot this IS the Shooting School for YOU.
Shooting a Basketball IS the MOST important part of the game today and the MOST important skill to master.It requires proper mechanics, mental toughness, confidence and hours and hours of practice. Here at the Shooting Academy you WILL learn the proper techniques of mastering the shot including from the foot up-foot balance, hand placement, elbow alignment , finger alignment into the follow thru.
Each day will be divided into two sections-SECTION ONE-teaching the correct Fundamentals of the shot listed above and making sure that all fundamentals are in order. Each day will start with a review of all the fundamentals of the shot. Then it will proceed as to how and where to catch the ball while receiving a pass and the footwork required before the pass.
SECTION TWO-will involved Individual Shooting drills that the player will record all his makes on a form as he/she goes thru all the drills which will be timed. There will be a series of 18 Shooting Drills that the player will recover their score as they will ONLY be competing against themselves. Each day the player can see their development and hopefully improvement in their competitive individual drills. Each drill will have a passer and rebounder so the player will shoot for either a minute , two or three consecutive minutes. Repetition is the BEST teacher,.
TIME FRAME-Each day will be two and half hours with 30 minutes each day of teaching the Fundamentals of the shot and helping each player individually in their technique and form.
The next two hours will be ALL shooting with the player recording their score on a form that will be theirs to keep, Scores will be recorded each day to see where each player has advanced.
STAFF
Bob Fisher-Presently the Head Coach of Basketball at Marshfield High School and has Coached High School Basketball for 43 years winning 696 games along with 23 league championships and 2 State Championship Titles. Coach Fisher was also the first Basketball Captain at Bentley University and the First player at Bentley to score over 500 points. Coach was also an All New England College All-Star and started all four years at Bentley and was the leading scorer in three of the years.
Trey O’Connor-Presently the Freshmen Coach at Marshfield. Trey is in his senior year at Mass Boston and will have graduated before camp starts.Trey was a impact player while playing for Coach Fisher and one of the best shooting guards Marshfield has had. A outstanding three point shooter, Trey’s passion for the game is endless and is an outstanding teacher of the game.

Grade Levels Boys and Girls Entering Grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in September of 2024
Numbers Allowed Since Shooting a Skill that needs teaching time enrollment will be Limited to 25
Cost $185.00 or $50 per day
